Dutch Elm Disease Treatment
Though Dutch elm disease (DED) has killed millions of elm trees, it can be treated and even prevented in most cases. This fungicidal disease has been killing elm trees since the 1920s, when the fungi which cause it were imported from Asia into Europe and America. Any elm tree growing in the western hemisphere should be considered at risk for DED.
Viable treatment options exist that we use both to prevent and control DED. We employ a variety of methods in conjunction to keep elm trees healthy and beautiful, including regular trimming and fertilization, as well as insect and fungus control measures specific to DED.
If you have elm trees (whether they are diseased or not) and you intend to keep them, we suggest that you contact us immediately to schedule a consultation. Call 408-882-7535.
